NYC Trip: Day 3

The third and final day of our NYC Weekend trip! Well, we woke up bright and early, packed up and checked out of our hotel. We took a chance by driving the car in New York. We headed toward The Statue of Liberty. We arrived there and found parking, oober expensive of course, and it was just past 8 am. We got in a very short line to buy our Statue of Liberty tickets and got in another relatively short line to board the ferry. We had to go through security take off anything metal and load back up to get onto the ferry. Dad and Jonathan followed me out to the front of the ferry to enjoy the bright blue sky and cool breeze from the water while we sailed over to the island. Some kid from England was commenting on my enormous camera and lens and kept it going to where I was getting quite tired of him. He finally got the hint and stopped trying to be witty. We arrived on the Island! First things first, we were hungry. Of course we realize this when we are stuck on an island that has only one cafe and their prices were, well, over the top. I got a kids meal which was $5 and a $3 vitamin water. Really? Wow. So after we eat of course a bathroom break and then FINALLY we check out Lady Liberty. We walked all the way around snapping shots as we go-well, ok, so I was taking the pictures, let's be honest.

Then when we had our fill we decided to skip Ellis Island and just go home. We were all tired. We get back to the car, load up and hit the road... and waited patiently in the traffic. On the drive home I could not keep my eyes open. Abby was fussy, she was all done with the trip. We made a few potty stops along the way and got stuck in quite a bit of traffic but finally made it home safely and relaxed. Ah, home. Your own bed. Fresh healthy food. It's good to be home.
